ConvaTec Associate Director Commercial / Strategic Brands, Critical Care in CH - Schaffhausen, Switzerland

This role is pivotal to the regional short and long term growth of the franchise and consists of a regional commercial (70%) and a global marketing (30%) portion. The job incumbent will work very closely with the commercial teams in key focus countries in EMEA to drive market share gain with existing products and to roll out and optimize commercial success of new product offerings. The incumbent needs to develop a thorough understanding of the business drivers in the target markets to have credibility with the regional leadership teams and to be able to work with Global Marketing, R&D and other functions to ensure business continuity by triggering and supporting the required product development and life-cycle-management projects as well as the necessary global marketing initiatives. The Associate Director Commercial/ Strategic Brands, Critical Care will report into the VP of the Critical Care Franchise and will have one experienced Senior Product Manager reporting to them.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supports development of and implements global Critical Care commercial strategies

  • Focus on important strategic brands and key focus markets predominantly in Europe

  • Analyses market environments, potential, drivers, barriers, competition

  • Develops localized tactics supporting growth initiatives, campaigns, go-to-market strategies and new product launches

  • Drives realization of strategies and tactics in alignment with local sales and marketing teams

  • Monitors and reports business metrics regarding revenues, profitability, market share, and product portfolio mix

  • Supports the development of Global Marketing campaigns and materials

  • Develops field execution tools and sales aids, in conjunction with global marketing, that help sales representatives effectively deliver the appropriate value message for the acute brands to the appropriate audience

  • Ensure sales trainings are conducted and materials are in place to enable superior field execution and delivery of value messages

  • Collaborate with local marketers to proactively identify product gaps and competitive threats

  • Liaise with Clinical and Industry Key Stakeholders to develop an up-to-date understanding of unmet needs, clinical requirements, market demands and developments

  • Support R&D and Marketing in development of new products, Life-Cycle Management of strategic products and brands

  • Teams with Operations and Supply Chain to ensure constant and efficient market forecasting and product supply

  • Collaborates and follows up with QARAC (Quality, Regulatory & Clinical) functions on product registrations, collection of post market clinical feedback and critical products complaints

  • Establishes, maintains and manages effective interaction and relationships with 3rd party agencies and vendors.

  • Demonstrate leadership and agility as role will evolve/grow as the team expands

Background and Experience

  • Strong business acumen with ability to plan and manage at strategic and operational levels

  • Background of working in or with the medical device or comparable industries

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing or Life Sciences

  • Minimum 5 years in Sales and/or Marketing roles

  • Analytical and Tactical skillset (Market Segementation, Competitive Analysis, SFE)

  • Cross-Organizational Leadership - and influencing skills

  • Proven track-record in successfully rolling out sales & marketing campaigns or in-market growth programs

  • Experience in managing and growing mature brands

  • Safe and comfortable in talking to health care professionals and representatives of hospital procurement and GPOs

  • Excellent verbal and written presentation and interpersonal skills

  • English language is a must
