Convatec are recruiting a Manufacturing Execution System (MES) implementation Champion to join our team at its facility in Deeside. The MES Champion will be part of the Operations team and will be the site owner and single point of contact for the MES. The MES Implementation Champion and MES Implementation Teams will be responsible for designing, configuring/building, demonstrating, testing, training, and deploying MES solutions for Convatec, Deeside site.

Responsibilities:

• Work alongside the Manufacturing shop floor teams to provide coach, support and guide on MES adoption and implementation.

• Be an accountable leader of the MES implementation across all teams and functions.

• Be responsible for ensuring the scope of work is defined, delivered on time, on budget, and realizes the value for Convatec.

• Manage risk identification and mitigation activities.

• Remove roadblocks by working with the Product team, Program Leadership, Project/Program Sponsorship, Functional Leadership as needed.

• Support the Change Management efforts required to ensure successful adoption of the Project(s) deliverables.

• Documentation - Training & validation of MES system

• Training of super users, SME’s, operators in MES

• Testing of MES application and feedback to Product team

• Create master data for individual production process.

• Performing ITQA & process validation

• Supporting manufacturing teams post Go Live for smooth adoption of the MES system.

• Be the single point contact for changes related to the master data of the system.

• Support SME’s and Line leaders to successfully adopt the existing production process to MES system and guide during troubleshooting scenarios.

• Coordinate requests from manufacturing team to IT and Product teams for support and enhancement of the MES System

• Gather comments and improvements relating to the MES and assess them.

• Adopt and evolve the system for future requirements and use cases.

• Work with other site internal teams to adapt the existing MES to new process, people, or quality driven requirements.

Key requirements

The candidate will provide mentorship and support to MES end users, including diagnosing and resolving issues. They will assist in executing computer system validation deliverables including specifications, validation plans, test scripts, and reports.

Prior experience in MES system is desirable or any experience related to implementation of software systems within manufacturing.

• Good knowledge of IT systems with ability to handle trouble shoot and solve problems.

• Soft skills and competencies are essential for success in the role.

• Effective written and verbal communication, technical analysis, problem solving, and investigative skills.

• Willingness and ability to learn quickly on the job.

• There will be a need to understand MES systems including configuration, integration with other solutions, and how MES is used to support the business process.

• Experience working on global teams across organizational levels with the ability to collaborate across a diverse, multi-functional team.

• Good understanding/exposure of manufacturing production processes

• Good understanding/exposure to PLC, control networks within manufacturing

• Good understanding/exposure to GxP validated systems and processes.

Education/ Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering (IT/Manufacturing/Electrical/Electronics/Mechatronics/Industrial)

• Professional certification in project management, six sigma, IT related or relevant – Desirable

Travel Requirements

Percentage of working time involving travel, and travel destinations

Example: Position may involve travel up to 20% of the time, mostly within Europe, but overseas travel is expected. Most trips will include overnight travel.
