Key responsibilities

This is an influential role to ensure we build the foundations of marketing excellence through building and optimizing digital tools. It will require significant collaboration across Salesforce Effectiveness (SFE), IT, all Business Units, and within the MCoE. It will need to use specialist knowledge to define the strategy and roadmap to enable and optimise effective marketing automation across the organization, including data strategy and behavioural analysis.

  • Owner of Marketing CRM and the interdependent marketing tools to manage the prospect and customer lifecycle.

  • Implementation of marketing CRM strategy and operational model, working across marketing, sales, and CIC

  • Expert in developing digital products and executing end to end digital marketing tools to optimize customer relationship management and growth opportunity.

  • Develop, implement, and optimize marketing automation strategies to drive lead generation, customer engagement, and revenue growth.

  • Manage and execute end-to-end marketing automation campaigns, including segmentation, email marketing, lead nurturing, and scoring.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate marketing automation into broader marketing and sales initiatives.

  • Utilize marketing automation tools (e.g., HubSpot, Marketo) to create and manage workflows, drip campaigns, and personalized customer journeys.

  • Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of marketing automation efforts and make data-driven recommendations for improvement.

  • Implement A/B testing methodologies to optimize email content, landing pages, and other campaign elements.

  • Stay current with industry trends and best practices in marketing automation to ensure the company remains innovative and competitive.

  • Provide training and support to marketing and sales teams on marketing automation tools and processes.

  • Collaborate with the IT department to ensure seamless integration and functionality of marketing automation platforms with other systems.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to marketing automation, ensuring consistent and reliable campaign execution.

Key requirements

  • Proven experience in marketing automation, with a track record of successful strategy implementation

  • In-depth knowledge of marketing automation platforms and tools.

  • Experience in medium to large matrix organizations through periods of transformation.

  • Expert in data led digital marketing with extensive experience essential.

  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to translate data into requirements and actionable insights.

  • Excellent project management and organizational skills, with a keen attention to detail.

  • Effective communication, collaboration and influencing skills to work cross-functionally at a senior level.

  • Familiarity with CRM systems (Microsoft Dynamics preferred) and their integration with marketing automation tools.

  • Certification in relevant marketing automation platforms is a plus.

  • Med Tech or Pharma/Life Sciences experience is highly desirable.

  • Has the ability to translate complex technical language for range of different non-technical audiences.

  • Is passionate about delivering high-quality experiences end to end.

  • Actively encourages contributions from all those around them, recognising the value of team members’ input when solving problems.

  • 7+ years of experience in product development

  • Understanding of business value related to features and functions.

  • Outstanding communication, presentation, and leadership skills

  • Sharp analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to effectively manage conflicting needs of stakeholders

Education/ Qualifications

  • Degree

  • Experience in marketing great customer experiences & in marketing automation

  • Experience with a marketing nurture platform/marketing & Sales CRM

Examples

  • Introducing a marketing CRM will require collaboration and connection across existing silos. There will be a need to clearly articulate the vision and strategy, whilst also understanding and planning out the steps needed to implement a new enterprise solution globally across all the business units. It will require complex problem solving and a structured approach to delivery that unlocks value for the business and customers incrementally. The solution will need to be applied across different regulatory environments whilst also retaining a consistent enterprise approach. This will require being able to communicate with clarity across different stakeholder groups, turning a technical roadmap into a business strategic plan that unlocks value.

  • Understanding how we collect data compliantly across global markets with different regulatory environments in order to use that data to understand our customers more deeply and take across to drive conversion through the funnel. It will need to understand the value of different data points and create processes and ways of working between different teams to unlock value from the data. There is a significant level of stakeholder influencing that will be needed in order to move to the new ways of working to ensure that the return on investment in data collection and marketing automation is achievable.
