The main purpose of the role is to act as an independent tax expert ensuring the delivery of all indirect and direct tax processes and respective accounting in scope. The person is fully responsible for the timely and correct tax reporting for assigned entity(ies).

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the RTR team and tax function to deliver half year and year end tax reporting for the Group

  • Support the tax compliance life cycle for group entities alongside external service providers.

  • Ensure correct tax treatment of transactions in line with defined processes, standard operating procedures and work instructions, update process documentations as required

  • Execute direct and indirect tax activities for assigned entity(ies), perform reconciliation and monitoring of tax accounts, deliver tax reporting on timely manner and meeting quality targets

  • Act as subject matter expert for accounting and reporting of direct taxes

  • By developing technical tax knowledge in relevant jurisdictions and deliver internal trainings on tax matters

  • Support cross process/function cooperation to foster knowledge sharing on and direct taxes

  • Drive the resolution of more complex queries raised by employees, managers, finance partners & other internal and external stakeholders, build good relationship with stakeholders

  • Secure compliance according to internal procedures and legislation in force, track and implement required changes

  • Ad hoc support on migration projects in tax related matters (work shadowing, work instructions creation)

  • Ad-hoc support for responding to statutory and tax authorities audits where applicable.

  • Escalate issues and concerns to RTR Team Lead and RTR Tower Lead and propose remediating actions

  • Proactively assist RTR Team Lead to identify any areas of improvement to help maximizing the efficiency and effectiveness of the processes, participate in the implementation of improvement initiatives

Key Requirements

  • Strong communication skills

  • Mature attitude towards challenges and problem solving - being able to work with limited guidance and able to determine information needed to resolve more complex issues, manage pressure effectively and cope well with setbacks

  • Taking ownership of assigned responsibilities, including self-study/research needed to execute the same

  • Being able to work to tight deadlines and with switching priorities

  • Proactive and creative in terms of improving ways of working

  • Desire to develop a tax career in an MNE environment.

  • Team player

Qualifications/Education

  • Strong combined accounting and tax experience

  • Master’s degree in Finance/Accounting

  • Additional accounting or tax certification is a plus

  • Experience in working with IFRS and local standards is a plus

  • Knowledge of Technology: MS Office, SAP is an advantage

Position may involve travel up to 10% of the time, mostly within Europe but overseas travel is expected. Most trips will include overnight travel
